So yeah, if your in the area, be sure to see the nice peace loving, well behaved, stand up contributing citizens that attend that event (not!) which culminates with a peace prayer on 4th of July. one gas station owner said she about beat the crap out of one because he came in, asked for a rest room, she told them their's was out of service, so he proceeded to whip it out and pee on her flower bed right in front of the store. every town in the area had them pan handling at the stores and gas stops. 80 mile loop of awesome backcountry gravel/dirt/two track, amazing vistas reminiscent of Moab area, 8-10 (easy) water crossings, old mines and an interesting small town to explore. my favorite route was the Bridge Creek rd through and around the Painted Hills area. one road took us up to 7,351ft, where we were stopped by a 15ft high wall of snow crossing the forest road. go figure) but some phenomenal stuff there. (oddly enough, we did not see a single BMW or any other adv bike out on the amazing dirt roads in the area.
